Demarcus Myers, 24, was shot and killed during a family gathering at a home on Bogota Way in Jonesboro, Georgia, on November 25, 2016. The gathering of friends and family included card games and drinking; an argument between Myers and his wife, 23-year-old Brittany Lee Wiggins, reportedly escalated and ended in the shooting. Police found Myers under a carport and he died after being taken to a local hospital.
Brittany Lee Wiggins, described as a Black woman, was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. Investigators searched for her in the Old National Highway area and believed she might be with family in Florida. After more than a month as a fugitive, U.S. Marshals arrested Wiggins in Stone Mountain, Georgia, in early January 2017 and took her into custody. Details about any subsequent trial, conviction, or sentencing have not been reported.
Did anyone at the gathering or in the Jonesboro area have knowledge of what sparked the argument that night?
