James Harold Walls, 56, was shot and killed on October 29, 2016, at a Circle K gas station in Braselton, Georgia, after a dispute that began in the parking lot of a nearby Waffle House. While Walls pumped gas, a vehicle that had been at the Waffle House pulled up beside him and a single shot from inside that car struck him in the chest.

A woman later identified as Angela Nicole Baker had been with Walls and was inside the store when the shooting occurred. She retrieved her purse from Walls’ truck, made a phone call, and left without reporting the shooting; police tracked Walls’ stolen cell phone and arrested her the next day on initial tampering with evidence and obstruction charges. Authorities said the shooting grew out of a drug transaction; the alleged shooter was identified as 19-year-old Antonio Ward Gee Jr., who was charged with felony murder. Three others were also implicated: Christopher Sebastian Carneiro, owner of the Honda Gee was driving, Travis Brady, accused of disposing of Walls’ phone in Lake Lanier, and Paula Agan, Baker’s mother, who was charged with obstruction for picking her daughter up at the scene.
