Marcus Dewayne Braswell was killed in the early morning hours of October 20, 2016, in his Poppy Avenue home in Macon, Georgia. Two masked intruders broke into the residence and fatally shot the 37-year-old; an autopsy found two gunshot wounds to the chest and Braswell was pronounced dead at the scene.
Within a day, arrests were made after a deputy spotted a stolen car matching a vehicle seen near the house, prompting a brief chase. Andre Jackson, 21, and Lisa Harris, 31, were charged with murder, and 26-year-old Brandon Haywood was also taken into custody. Prosecutors said the three had planned to rob Braswell at a home where he was known to sell drugs.
During the ensuing trial, Harris and Jackson testified after pleading guilty and identified Haywood from home security footage. A 40-caliber handgun recovered from the stolen vehicle was ballistically matched to the bullets that killed Braswell, and a jury found Brandon Trayvon Haywood guilty of malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault, sentencing him to life without parole.
If anyone knew Marcus, his routines, or saw suspicious activity around Poppy Avenue on or before October 20, 2016, please share what was observed.
