Late on September 3, 2016, Savannah police responded to reports of shots fired near Ash and Anderson streets and found two separate victims on nearby blocks of East Bolton Street. Troy Antwan Black, 35, was located at a residence in the 1200 block of East Bolton Street and had been fatally wounded by gunfire. A second man, Antonio Jackson, 35, was found inside a vehicle on the 1300 block of East Bolton Street with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds; he told officers he had been walking east on Bolton Street when an unknown person shot him.
Investigators did not believe the shootings were random and the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s violent crimes detectives opened an investigation, appealing for public tips to identify whoever was responsible for Black’s death and the assault on Jackson.
If anyone has information about what happened that night or observed activity on East Bolton Street near Ash and Anderson on September 3, 2016, contact the investigators.
