Darian Vashawn Brewster, 34 and known to friends as D-Roc, was shot while sitting in his car outside Club Dreams on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Macon, Georgia, in the early morning hours of August 20, 2016. According to accounts, a man approached asking for a lighter; when Brewster declined, the man produced a firearm and shot him once in the chest. Brewster managed to drive away before one of his passengers, Sandra Thomas, took over and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Investigators identified Quentin Mccorey Jackson as the primary suspect and said Jackson and another man, Benjamin Jerome Murphy Jr., had planned a robbery targeting Brewster. Jackson fled and was captured in North Augusta, South Carolina, by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Fugitive Task Force; Sandra Thomas was also detained at that time for hindering his apprehension. Jackson was charged with malice murder, felony murder and violations of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act; witnesses and recorded jail calls presented at trial were cited in the prosecution’s case. The case against Benjamin Jerome Murphy Jr. remained pending in Bibb County Superior Court.

Are there people who knew Brewster that can shed light on his last night or the people he was with?
