In the early morning hours of August 1, 2016, 17-year-old Carter Davis and 17-year-old Natalie Henderson were found dead behind a Publix grocery store in Roswell, Georgia. Both had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. Their parents believed the teens were at home in bed when the killings occurred. Carter was about to start his senior year at River Ridge High School in Woodstock and was remembered by family and friends as talented in soccer, football, and lacrosse.
Investigators used surveillance footage, cellphone data, and social media evidence to identify 20-year-old Jeffrey Hazelwood of Roswell as the person who followed the two teenagers behind the store and shot them. Evidence showed Hazelwood used Henderson’s debit card at a nearby gas station shortly after the killings. He was arrested and charged with two counts of murder, aggravated assault, theft, and financial transaction card fraud. During his initial court appearance he exhibited unusual behavior, and a psychiatrist later diagnosed multiple mental illnesses that included hallucinations and suicidal thoughts.
If anyone knew Carter or has information about his last day or the location behind the Publix, please share what you know.
