Jibri Bryan was a 23-year-old graduate student and basketball player for Mercer University who was fatally shot on February 2, 2016, in Macon, Georgia. He was sitting in his Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the parking lot of a Flash Foods convenience store at the corner of College and Forsyth streets when a planned drug transaction turned into an armed robbery. Bryan had arranged to meet Jarvis Clinton Miller Sr. and Damion Deray Henderson to buy Xanax; phone records later showed Miller texted Henderson about a sweet lick, a term used for a robbery.
When Bryan realized he was being robbed, both men drew guns and shots were fired. A .380-caliber bullet from Miller’s gun struck Bryan in the head; Miller, who was also shot, fled. Henderson then took Bryan’s gun and shot him in the neck before leaving the scene. A witness provided a license plate that helped identify Henderson’s vehicle, leading to arrests. Miller and Henderson were charged with felony murder and later indicted on multiple counts, including malice murder and felony murder. Both men ultimately pleaded guilty to related charges and received lengthy prison terms.
Did anyone who knew Jibri or saw him in Macon around February 2, 2016, notice anything that might help fill gaps in the timeline?
