Damon Card was 22 when he was fatally shot on the night of Friday, January 29, 2016. He had recently moved to Savannah, Georgia, for a new job and was remembered as a Jackson High School 2012 graduate who played multiple sports, drew, played guitar and performed with his band Half Life.
Police responded around 11:15 p.m. to a shooting at a residence in the 100 block of Paradise Drive and found Card and another 22-year-old man, Wendell Washington, with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Memorial Medical Center; Washington’s injuries were not life-threatening, while Card died at the hospital. Investigators said the shooting did not appear random and sought a white sedan, likely a late-1990s to early-2000s model, seen leaving toward White Bluff Road soon after the incident.
Card’s family has returned to Savannah on anniversaries to appeal for information. Does anyone have information about that night or recall seeing a white sedan near Paradise Drive around 11:15 p.m. on January 29, 2016?
