On the evening of November 24, 2015, Devron Latrell Torrance, 27, was riding as a passenger in a pickup truck near Horne Avenue in Milledgeville, Georgia, when the vehicle was struck by gunfire. A bullet passed through the rear window and hit Torrance in the head. The driver fled to a nearby store and called 911; Torrance was taken to Oconee Regional Medical Center and died about an hour later.
Investigators recovered spent shell casings on Horne Avenue and traced the shots to a house at 341 Horne Avenue. Authorities treated the shooting as gang-related and as possible retaliation for an earlier dispute. In the days after the killing, two people who had been inside the house were arrested on charges of making false statements, and three others — Montagus Travonn Davis, 19, Cameron Keith Brooks, 17, and Antonio Middlebrooks, 15 — were arrested and charged in connection with the shooting. A grand jury later indicted Brooks, Davis, and Middlebrooks on murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and gang-related counts.
If anyone has information about the shooting or knew Devron Torrance, please share what is known with investigators.
