A dispute that began with damaged property escalated into a deadly shooting at a McDonough sports bar on October 24, 2015. Prince Varner, 28, was involved in a confrontation with Julian Redding inside the Red Zone Sports Bar on Racetrack Road. Both men left, and surveillance footage shows Varner re-entering the bar and being followed by Redding, who then shot him multiple times in the back. Varner was taken to a nearby hospital and died of his wounds.

Police identified 31-year-old Julian Keyon Redding as the suspect; he turned himself in on October 31, 2015, and was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. At trial in July 2017 the surveillance video and testimony about an ongoing feud were central. The prosecution portrayed the shooting as retaliatory; the defense said Redding acted in self-defense. The jury convicted Redding of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and firearm possession; he received life without parole plus five years.

Does anyone have information about the earlier incident that reportedly sparked the feud or about the night at the Red Zone Sports Bar?
