A late-night street fight in unincorporated Norcross, Georgia, on September 23, 2015, ended in a deadly shootout that killed 20-year-old Tré Edwards of Lilburn. More than 20 people had gathered on Reddington Lane when a confrontation around 10 p.m. turned violent and gunfire erupted. Edwards was struck by a bullet while seeking cover behind a car, found lying in the roadway, and taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Three other people were wounded and reported in stable condition. Multiple homes and vehicles in the area were damaged by gunfire. Gwinnett County homicide detectives identified a suspect and in December 2015 arrested 23-year-old David Talamantes of Lawrenceville; he was taken into custody in DeKalb County on unrelated charges and later faced warrants for felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with Edwards’s death. Investigators continued probing the scene because a large number of people were involved.
If anyone was present that night or has information about what led to the shootout, please come forward.
