On the night of July 25, 2015, Hakeem Lamar Clark, 26, was with three friends in a Savannah parking lot at West Bay and Fahm streets when two men approached. The strangers, described as slender Black males with faces obscured by hats or caps, produced a weapon and demanded valuables. Although the victims complied, Clark was shot; he was taken to Memorial University Medical Center and died on July 26, 2015.
Clark was from Hinesville and worked as a plant operator and a meat cutter. Friends remembered him for his infectious smile and lively sense of humor. The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police investigated the case, at one point identifying two women who were in the area as persons of interest while continuing to search for the second man involved.
If anyone has information about the events that night or the people seen near West Bay and Fahm streets, please come forward.
