Nakita Lashawn Holland was 36 and nine months pregnant when she was shot to death at her apartment on Bennett Circle in Carrollton, Georgia, in early July 2015. Family members became worried after not hearing from her over the Fourth of July weekend; on Monday, July 6, her sister and the landlord entered the apartment and found Holland fatally shot in her bedroom. Her 2-year-old daughter was alive but covered in her mother’s blood and had apparently been alone with the body for what police estimated could have been more than a day.

Investigators concluded the shots were fired from outside through the bedroom window. Graffiti, including swastikas and racial slurs, had been spray-painted on the side of the building in an apparent effort to mislead police. The probe quickly focused on 25-year-old Tyrail Arrenzo Wynn, who had been in a relationship with Holland and was the father of her unborn son. Authorities said Wynn asked Holland to terminate the pregnancy; when she refused he plotted the killing. Evidence cited included a shoe print at the scene matching shoes Wynn burned and a 9mm pistol recovered from a lake where he had discarded it.

Wynn was arrested days after the body was found and later charged with murder, feticide, aggravated assault, burglary, and cruelty to children. Does anyone have information about Nakita’s life in Carrollton or the days leading up to July 2015 that could help fill gaps in the timeline?
