Stephant Goody Lewis, a 42-year-old African American man, was found dead in Folkston, Georgia, on June 19, 2015. Authorities concluded his death was the result of foul play; his injuries suggested a struggle and the case was classified as a homicide.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office jointly investigated. Their inquiry focused on three people: 35-year-old Lindsay Griffis of Folkston, and 37-year-old Kristin McDade and 38-year-old Thomas Moore, both from Jacksonville, Florida. All three were arrested and charged with robbery and murder. Prosecutors argued the robbery was premeditated and escalated to homicide; the defendants’ attorneys contested the state’s evidence at trial.
The jury returned guilty verdicts for all three defendants. If anyone knew Stephant Goody Lewis or has information about his final hours, please share what you know.
