Quentin Cheatham, a 32-year-old Black man from Albany, Georgia, was shot the night of June 6, 2015, in the 1500 block of Malone Drive. Albany police responded about 9:30 p.m.; two good Samaritans reportedly tried to get him to the hospital, but he later died.
Authorities briefly focused on a friend, Cameron Jones, who was held on a 72-hour hold and questioned as a person of interest before being released. Police did not publicly say what they believed had happened, and there were no publicly documented murder charges or a trial tied to Cheatham’s death in the coverage cited. The family told the station they believed the shooting was accidental, leaving unanswered questions about how this night unfolded among people who knew one another.
If anyone knew Quentin, was in the 1500 block of Malone Drive that night, or has information about what happened, please share what is known.
