In the early morning hours of a Monday in Gainesville, Georgia, 46-year-old taxi driver Isaias Tovar-Murillo was found dead in his white taxi, which had stopped in a wooded area behind a house off Barrett and Dorsey Peek roads. Investigators determined he had been shot and killed.
Authorities say the killing began as a planned armed robbery. Misty Sunshine Moran, 39, was alleged to have been a passenger who intended to rob Tovar-Murillo and fatally shot him during the attempt. Three others — Margarita Leanos, 28, Nicholas Gonzalez, 24, and Justin Adams, 22 — were said to have followed the taxi in another vehicle to assist Moran after the robbery. Anonymous tips led investigators to arrest all four.
Moran was charged with malice murder, felony murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Leanos, Gonzalez and Adams were charged with felony murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Did anyone in the Gainesville area know Tovar-Murillo or see his taxi that night?
