On the morning of March 4, 2015, a double homicide was discovered at a Mitchell Road residence in Warrenton, Georgia. Inside the home, 28-year-old Tenecia Posley of Warrenton and 47-year-old Barry Johnson of Mitchell had both been shot to death. A child found in the house was unharmed.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified the killings as a double homicide and arrested three men from Thomson later in 2015: Donovon Raishad Fitts, 22; Jermanique Vashon Franklin, 24; and DeAundre Javarus Ross, 23. The defendants were indicted on charges including malice murder, felony murder, burglary, armed robbery, false imprisonment, and aggravated assault. At trial in Warren County Superior Court, the jury convicted Donovan Fitts of multiple counts including malice murder, felony murder, and armed robbery, and convicted Jermanique V. Franklin of felony murder, burglary, and armed robbery. Deaundre Ross was acquitted of all charges. Fitts and Franklin received life sentences without the possibility of parole.
