Bobby M. Shue, a 75-year-old white man from the Hephzibah area, was found dead inside a home on Rheney Road on March 1, 2015. Deputies had answered a distress call in the early morning and discovered Shue dead while a woman at the scene had also been brutally attacked. Investigators said Shue had been shot and stabbed; the woman, reported to be his wife Deborah Ouzts, was shot twice and stabbed in the throat but survived.
Authorities identified Richard Manley Ouzts, then 59, as the suspect. Early reports listed charges including murder, criminal attempt, false imprisonment, and possession of a weapon by a felon. Later that year Richard Ouzts pleaded guilty in Richmond County Superior Court to murder, attempted murder, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and received a sentence of life in prison plus five years.
Does anyone have information about the household or the events on Rheney Road that night that could add context to what happened?
