On the afternoon of Friday, January 23, 2015, 71-year-old Myra Wilson Reeves and her husband, 69-year-old James Steven Reeves were found dead in their home on Terhune Road in Rome, Georgia, each having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Neighbors remembered the couple as very nice people and beloved grandparents. The Floyd County Police Department, assisted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, opened a homicide investigation.
On February 24, 2015, Emerson Mack Abbott Jr., who lived near the Reeves, was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. The arrest ended the immediate search for a suspect but left many in the community seeking answers about motive and sequence of events leading to the killings.
Does anyone have information about the Reeves family, their last days, or the neighborhood that could help clarify what happened?
