Charles Paul Cowboy Mills, 35, of Elberton, Georgia, was found dead on September 28, 2014, after firefighters responding to two burning vehicles discovered a charred body in the trunk of a Kia Spectra. An autopsy showed Mills had been shot multiple times and was already deceased before the cars were set on fire.

Investigation tied the killing to Jonathan Reid Cann, then 27, and his 23-year-old girlfriend, Chelsea Brooke Clary. The pair drove from Iva, South Carolina, with Mills’s body in the trunk of his own car. A witness who stopped to help the burning vehicles was threatened when Cann pointed a rifle and ordered him to leave. Authorities say Mills was shot and killed at a trailer park in Iva before his body was transported to Georgia.

In Georgia, Cann and Clary were convicted of multiple charges including concealing the death of another, arson, and bringing stolen property into the state. Cann received a 50-year sentence with 30 years required to be served; Clary received 30 years with 20 to be served. Both were expected to face murder charges in South Carolina. Does anyone have additional details about Mills’s last known movements or the events at the Iva trailer park?
