Michael Anthony Starnes, a 48-year-old white man from LaGrange, Georgia, was shot and killed in March 2014. The Troup County Sheriff’s Office treated his death as a homicide and investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Investigators identified Timothy Lee Stargell as a suspect and arrested him. Stargell was charged in connection with Starnes’s death. The case proceeded to trial, where the prosecution presented evidence linking Stargell to the fatal shooting.

A jury found Timothy Lee Stargell guilty, and the court imposed a lengthy prison sentence. The conviction closed the criminal case but could not undo the loss suffered by Starnes’s family.

Did anyone in LaGrange at the time have information about Starnes’s movements or who he was with in the days before the shooting?
