On July 5, 2013, a night out in downtown Macon, Georgia ended in gunfire that killed 17-year-old Jamonni Bland. At about 3:30 a.m., Bland was shot in an underground parking deck near the Zodiac Lounge after a brawl inside the club spilled outside. Investigators said Bland was not involved in the original fight when he was struck.
The melee left multiple people wounded; another man was shot inside the club while others were hit outside. Authorities linked the violence to a local street gang and identified Andre Bonner as the person who fatally shot Bland. John Michael Hollingshed Jr. admitted shooting a different victim that night and testified that he handed his gun to Bonner, who then shot Bland.
Several people were charged in connection with the incident. Kiyo Johnson and Jimmy Lee Scott III pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and violating Georgia’s anti-gang law, and Miranda Victoria Pettiway was charged as a party to the crime for driving two men, including an injured Bonner, to a hospital. Did anyone who knew Jamonni or who was in the area that night see what happened in or around the Zodiac Lounge?
