Hassan Williams, 21, a recently discharged U.S. Army veteran, traveled from his South Carolina home to Thomasville, Georgia in July 2012 intending to visit a woman he had met while in the service. He arrived at an apartment on the morning of July 17 in a 1995 Mercedes. Instead of a reunion he was lured into a vacant house on Metcalfe Avenue and shot execution-style, with gunshot wounds to his back and the back of his head. His car was later found burned on Millpond Road.
Investigators arrested four people within days: the woman who had arranged the meeting, Kiera Shanise Graham; Alvin Davis III and his brother Chaquel Jaquez Cook; and Graham’s roommate, Kimberly Deshaundra Williams. Charges included murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, motor vehicle hijacking, arson and cruelty to children because Graham’s five-year-old daughter was present during some of the offenses. Kimberly Williams testified for the prosecution and later received probation. In 2013 Graham, Davis and Cook were convicted and sentenced to life in prison; Davis admitted to others that he shot Hassan, saying his brother shot him first and he fired a final shot to the head.
Did anyone in Thomasville at the time see Hassan’s Mercedes or notice activity around Metcalfe Avenue on July 17, 2012?
