I was going through some old newspaper clippings about Deputy Kinchen’s heroic service, and it just struck me how utterly devoted he was to protecting his community. I hope we can take a moment to appreciate the courage it takes for law enforcement officers like Ricky Kinchen to step up every day, knowing the risks involved. It's easy to discuss the case and the aftermath, but actually imagining what he went through that day is a different story. His bravery is evident not just in his actions, but in the legacy he left behind with his colleagues and family. His dedication truly resonates with me, and I find myself thinking about his family, especially his kids who had to grow up without their dad. Going forward, how can communities better support the families of officers who make the ultimate sacrifice?
