Tino CarVay Roane, 37, was shot and killed during a confrontation at a Beach Park residence on October 6, 2022. A U.S. Army veteran from Zion, Illinois, Roane reportedly entered the home of a 24-year-old man who was not expecting him. After being asked to leave several times, an argument followed; Roane allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and was then shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene; an autopsy confirmed death by multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooter, who remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives, was taken into custody by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. As reported, no charges had been announced and the investigation was ongoing. Roane is survived by his parents, Gregory Roane Sr. and Tonia Citizen, his sons Tristan and Trenton, and other family members; he was buried with military honors at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
