Erica Yolanda Carr, 37, was found with fatal gunshot wounds in the 1400 block of Kenhill Avenue in Baltimore in the early morning of August 27, 2009. A call came in at about 6:30 a.m.; she was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital and pronounced dead. The official cause of death was ruled a shooting.

Carr had worked for the Maryland Division of Pretrial Detention and Services since 2004 and spent over four and a half years on the day shift at the Women’s Detention Center within the Baltimore City Detention Center. The division offered grief counselors to coworkers and pledged cooperation with the Baltimore City Police Department as the investigation began.

There is little public information about suspects or arrests in her killing. If anyone knew Erica, saw activity on Kenhill Avenue that morning, or has information about the case, please come forward to investigators.
