Maria Placz was 26 when she was last seen in Ventura, California, on July 21, 1976. A recent immigrant from Hungary, she worked for Infra-Red Industries in Carpinteria and was living in a care center as a dependent adult. Her car was recovered abandoned the day she disappeared; inside were her wallet, purse, and several handwritten notes that suggested she intended to take her own life. Her body has never been found and the case remains unsolved.

The Ventura Police Department classifies her as an endangered missing person and continues to seek tips. Does anyone have information about Maria’s movements in July 1976 or remember seeing her car that day?
