Timothy Quintine Manns, known as Timmy, was a 29-year-old African American man from Bloomington, Illinois who was fatally shot on January 24, 2022, in an apartment in the 600 block of West Jefferson Street. The community remembered him for his infectious smile, love for his family, and passion for sports, especially basketball. He is survived by his children, Landon and Leila.

The Bloomington Police Department investigated the shooting. In February 2023 a 24-year-old man, Jaylin Bones, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated battery with a firearm. The prosecution said Bones attacked and fatally shot Manns during an altercation in the apartment.

A McLean County jury later found Bones guilty of all charges. Following the conviction his bond was revoked and he remained in custody awaiting sentencing. Anyone who knew Timmy, his routine, or was in the area that night and has information is asked to come forward.
