Clarence Whalum was 22 when he and his 20-year-old brother Kimani were killed during a home invasion in Country Club Hills, Illinois, on October 5, 2021. The brothers were shot at their Farmcrest Trail residence about 7:30 p.m.; officers who responded to a home-invasion call found both men with gunshot wounds and they were later pronounced dead at local hospitals.

Their mother, Traci Rogers, described her sons as typical young men who loved their family and friends and said she was devastated and confused by the senseless violence.

The Country Club Hills Police Department and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force opened an investigation. On December 17, 2021, 21-year-old De Armani Green of Markham was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder; it is not clear whether others were involved. Anyone with information about what happened is asked to come forward.
