On October 5, 2021, 20-year-old Kimani Whalum and his 22-year-old brother Clarence were fatally shot during a home invasion at their Farmcrest Trail residence in Country Club Hills, Illinois. Police responded about 7:30 p.m. after a call about the invasion; both brothers were found with gunshot wounds and later died at the hospital. The Cook County medical examiner ruled both deaths homicides from multiple gunshot wounds.
Both were shot in front of their grandparents. Their mother, Traci Rogers, described the family’s devastation and said her sons were not involved in any trouble that would explain the attack.
An investigation by Country Club Hills police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, with FBI assistance, led to the December 17, 2021 arrest of 21-year-old De Armani Green of Markham, Illinois, on two counts of first-degree murder. What remains unclear is the full motive and whether any additional suspects were involved. Does anyone have information about that night or the people who were in the area around Farmcrest Trail?
