Coreon D. Davis, an 18-year-old from Naperville, Illinois, was killed on August 29, 2021, in a shooting during a gun sale that turned violent. The meeting in a parking lot on Amersale Drive involved Davis and a 17-year-old selling a firearm to 20-year-old Robert Chatman-Jones of Bellwood and 19-year-old Desire Gray of Aurora. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital; Davis was later transferred to Loyola Hospital, where he died.
Chatman-Jones and Gray left the scene but were arrested the next day in an Aurora apartment complex parking lot and were charged with first-degree murder, aggravated battery, and attempted armed robbery. Bond amounts were set at $4 million for Chatman-Jones and $1.5 million for Gray. The suspects had court dates scheduled for September 28, 2021. Does anyone have information about the transaction or the meeting location that could help investigators or the family?
