Alvin Arrington III, a 34-year-old African American man, was shot during a birthday celebration on July 17, 2021, in Sauk Village, Illinois, and died the following day, July 18, 2021, in Chicago Heights. The shooting at the party devastated his family and the local community.
A 27-year-old man named Jarvis Wright has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with Arrington’s death. Authorities say Wright allegedly shot Arrington, then fled the scene. The FBI states Wright is also charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and is believed to be armed and dangerous. Investigators linked Wright to a Facebook account under the alias John Wall that was accessed from a device in Madison, Wisconsin, and they offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Who in the Sauk Village or Madison areas might have seen Wright before or after the shooting and can help bring him to justice?
