Kenneth Keke Jones Jr., 38, was pronounced dead shortly before 1:30 a.m. on February 4, 2021, at Franciscan Olympia Fields hospital after a gunshot wound to the chest. The Cook County medical examiner ruled the death a homicide. The shooting occurred at Jones’s residence in the 100 block of Cedar Ridge Lane in Richton Park, Illinois.

Richton Park police reported the incident arose from a domestic violence situation. After review, investigators determined a woman involved acted in self‑defense; the Cook County state’s attorney declined to file charges and the case was closed. Police records show officers had previously responded to that address for other incidents.

Are there details about the earlier calls to that address or other context about the household that could shed light on what led to this fatal confrontation?
