On November 27, 2020, Damien Beal, a 27-year-old African American man, was found outside a home on South Tracy Avenue in Riverdale, Illinois with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and later died of that wound. Inside the same residence officers found his sister, 26-year-old Jessica Beal, also shot; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Autopsies determined both siblings died from gunshot wounds to the chest.

Authorities identified Jessica Beal’s boyfriend and the father of her child, Clarence Hebron, as the primary suspect. After the killings Hebron allegedly abducted the couple’s one-year-old son, triggering an Amber Alert; the child was later recovered and returned to family members. An arrest warrant charging Hebron with two counts of first-degree murder was issued and law enforcement pursued him, with investigators reportedly considering he may have fled to Michigan or Minnesota.

Vigils were held and the FBI offered a reward for information leading to Hebron’s arrest. If anyone has information that could help locate Hebron or shed light on what happened that night, please share it with investigators.
