Darnell Manns, 27, was shot on November 6, 2020, during an argument at a townhouse on Keswick Lane in unincorporated Naperville, Illinois. The dispute began after his girlfriend and fiancée, Rosa Lagrone, learned he was involved with another woman. Manns was packing to move out when Lagrone shot him once with a pistol. He was taken to a local hospital and died from his injuries on November 9, 2020.
Prosecutors say the bullet passed through Manns’ arm and lodged in his spine. After the shooting, while Manns lay on the floor, Lagrone is reported to have used his Facebook page to start a live video chat that showed Manns on the ground and someone believed to be Lagrone kicking him. Lagrone, 34 at the time, was arrested and initially charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and domestic battery; bond was set at $1.5 million. After Manns died, a grand jury indicted her on five counts of first-degree murder on November 19, 2020.
Did anyone who knew Darnell or Rosa see signs the relationship was headed toward violence or have information about that night?
