Jermaine Fleming, 42, of South Chicago Heights, was shot in the head on April 14, 2020, in the 200 block of East 14th Street in Chicago Heights and died two days later at the University of Chicago Medical Center. The Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide.
Chicago Heights police did not immediately provide details about the incident, and there have been no public reports of arrests, named suspects, or investigative outcomes. Fleming’s death remains unsolved, and it occurred within days of another homicide in the village, that of Kijuan Hollins.
Many questions remain about motive and circumstances. If anyone has information that could help bring justice for Jermaine Fleming, please share it with investigators or with the community.
