Leslie Ann Jones, a 67-year-old attorney, and her 69-year-old husband, Thomas E. Johnson, were found dead in their Oak Park, Illinois home on April 13, 2020. Both sustained multiple stab wounds; Jones was located on a staircase landing and Johnson in a bedroom. The scene was described as extensive, suggesting the perpetrator spent a considerable amount of time in the house. Jones suffered stab wounds to the head, chest, shoulder, and arms, while Johnson had stab wounds to the head, neck, and shoulder.
Both were prominent attorneys with Harvard law degrees; Jones worked in health care, civil rights, and real estate law, and Johnson handled social justice and corporate accountability cases and served as a hearing officer for the Chicago Police Board. Police have not identified any suspects or made arrests, and investigators requested nearby security footage but reported no significant leads. If anyone has information about the couple, their movements that day, or nearby surveillance, please come forward.
