Norman T. Walker, 51, was one of three people killed by gunshot wounds to the head on December 25, 2019, in Cullom, Illinois. The other victims were Shirley A. Brewer, 48, and her son Christian Brewer, 27. All three died at the same scene.

Police say Clifford Brewer, 55, a close friend of Walker, called 911 that day and reported waking to find the three dead. Officers noted a washing machine running on a sanitizing cycle in the house, a detail that drew investigators’ attention. At trial, Brewer claimed the shooting was accidental; his defense argued Shirley Brewer shot Christian Brewer and Walker and was then killed during a struggle. The jury rejected that account.

Clifford Brewer was convicted of the murders in August 2022 and later received three life terms plus 20 years for firearm use. Valerie Brewster, Walker’s 31-year-old daughter, described her father as kind and well-liked and said she had to identify him by his hairline because of the injuries. Did anyone in Cullom know Norman Walker or have information about the relationships among those involved?
