Nehemiah Turner was 23 when he was shot to death on December 7, 2019, in Harvey, Illinois. The shooting happened around 11 a.m. in the 14900 block of Marshfield Avenue. Cook County’s medical examiner found Turner with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead a little over an hour later and an autopsy ruled the manner of death a homicide caused by those wounds.

The Harvey Police Department is investigating. No arrests or suspects have been publicly identified and police have not released information about a possible motive. Turner’s family and members of the community remain without answers and are urging investigators to develop leads.
