Tyrell Wade was 17 when he was shot during an incident at River Oaks Mall in Calumet City, Illinois, on October 10, 2019. Wade and 18-year-old Christin Ross were both wounded in a parking lot shooting after an argument and physical altercation inside the mall. Reports say the confrontation began when Wade and Ross confronted an 18-year-old from Grinnell, Iowa, identified as Dajon M. Lewis, accusing him of robbing Ross’s sister; Lewis allegedly left, returned with a handgun, and opened fire on unarmed victims and witnesses as they exited by a different entrance.

Wade was struck once in the head and Ross twice in the head; both died of their injuries two days later at the hospital. Authorities say the shooting was not random and that there was no continuing danger to the public. An arrest warrant for Dajon M. Lewis was issued on October 15, 2019; he was arrested on October 25, 2019, in Gary, Indiana, held in Lake County, Indiana, then extradited to Illinois. Prosecutors say surveillance video and witness testimony place Lewis at the scene, and a Cook County judge ordered him held without bond as a danger to society.

Did anyone in the area see or record anything from the mall parking lot that day?
