Murray Hayes, 27, was shot to death on January 7, 2019, in Dolton, Illinois. The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of East 152nd Street, where Hayes lived. The Cook County medical examiner’s office reported gunshot wounds to the head and shoulder; he was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Dolton Police Chief Robert Collins Jr. said the South Suburban Major Crimes Taskforce and Dolton police were investigating. The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear, and it was unknown whether any suspects had been identified. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact the Dolton Police Department.
