Johnny Klerma, 25, was fatally shot in Calumet City, Illinois, on July 17, 2017. Officers who responded to reports of shots fired located Klerma in the 1600 block of State Street; he had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 12:19 a.m. by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.

Klerma lived in the Englewood neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side. Calumet City police opened a homicide investigation and have urged anyone with information to come forward. No arrests or suspects have been publicly identified in connection with his death.
