Tommie Moore, 70, and her husband Ira Moore, 67, were found dead in their Berwyn, Illinois, home on March 31, 2017. Both were shot in the head; Tommie also sustained multiple stab wounds. The couple had been married more than 20 years and both lived with disabilities — Tommie with dementia and Ira as a double amputee who used a wheelchair.

Investigators arrested 40-year-old Roger Scoby, a hospital transport driver contracted to take Ira to appointments. Scoby reportedly had guns from the Moore home in his possession and confessed, saying he had lost control. He faced two counts of first-degree murder and was held without bail. The case prompted concern about contractor background checks and rattled the local community.

Tommie is remembered by family and neighbors as kind and resilient; the brutal circumstances of her death remain deeply troubling. If anyone knew Tommie or saw anything related to the couple before March 31, 2017, please share information.
