Matthew Lange, 37, a psychology professor at Lewis University, was ambushed and shot to death on January 27, 2017, in Naperville, Illinois. He was sitting in his car waiting to pick up his young son from Polish classes at Scullen Middle School when the shooter approached and fired multiple times through the driver’s side window. As Lange tried to move to the passenger side, the shooter walked to that side and fired additional shots. The DuPage County Coroner ruled the cause of death multiple gunshot wounds, and Naperville police described the killing as an execution and say Lange was specifically targeted rather than the victim of a random act.
Investigators and Lange’s parents, David and Sandy Lange, have publicly urged new leads; a $50,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest. The investigation has been hampered by nonworking security cameras at the school that night, but police say the case will not be considered cold. Does anyone who lived or worked near Scullen Middle School in January 2017 have information that could help bring answers?
