Sean Redd, a 26-year-old African American man, was killed on May 17, 2016, in Fairview Heights, Illinois. The shooting happened about 9:55 PM at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Ashley Drive after police got reports of shots fired. Officers found two men shot multiple times, one inside the apartment and one outside. Redd was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Investigators say Redd and two accomplices, Kerion Nate Hammond, 30, and Jerami J. Clark, 23, had gone to steal drugs and money from Antonio D. Long, 22. A gunfight broke out during the attempted robbery; Redd was fatally shot and Long suffered a gunshot wound to his foot. Hammond and Clark were charged with first-degree murder; bonds were set at $2,000,000 each. Long was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, bond $500,000.
Are there details about the scene, witnesses, or the people involved that anyone can add?
