Paul Forystek, 39, was shot and killed on the front porch of his Lansing home in the 18500 block of Walter Street on August 21, 2015. He was pronounced dead at 3:25 p.m.; the Cook County medical examiner ruled the death a homicide. Witnesses say Forystek argued with another man, later identified as 36-year-old Donald Margraff, who allegedly shot Forystek multiple times and fled in a tan SUV.
Forystek suffered gunshot wounds to the shoulder, abdomen, head and legs and his ex-wife heard the argument and the gunshots as glass on the storm door shattered. Margraff was located by Lansing police that evening near 173rd Street and Torrence Avenue in the described SUV and a pistol was recovered from the vehicle. He was charged with first-degree murder, denied bond and the case was classified as domestic-related.
If anyone knew Paul or saw activity in the neighborhood that afternoon, please share what you know.
