TorShon McGoogin was 17 when he was fatally shot near Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Illinois, on Sunday night, February 23, 2014. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s autopsy found multiple gunshot wounds and ruled the death a homicide.

The Harvey Police Department investigated, checking surveillance cameras near the high school to try to identify possible suspects. The community responded with shock and mourning after another young life was ended by gun violence.
