Late on the night of February 2, 2014, 17-year-old Stephen Roe was shot and killed in Robbins, Illinois, in a family mass shooting that also claimed the lives of his mother, 42-year-old Michelle Ollie, and his 15-year-old sister, Trisha Worsham. The attack began in the kitchen, where Stephen was shot. The shooter then dragged Michelle out of bed and shot her, and shot Trisha in the back as she tried to flee.
The attacker was identified as 43-year-old Michael Worsham, Michelle Ollie’s husband and Trisha’s biological father. He did not survive; investigators reported he died shortly after the shootings of what appeared to be a heart attack. Two children survived after escaping to seek help: a 14-year-old stepson who witnessed the shootings and a 5-year-old grandson.
Reports state there was no known history of domestic incidents involving the household and no prior contact with child welfare. The motive for the killings remains unclear. If anyone knew Stephen, the family, or has information about that night in Robbins, please share what you know.
