Jamie L. Sternberger, 40, of Danville, Illinois, was found shot and was pronounced dead after being discovered at a residence on Cemetery Road south of Danville around 9 p.m. on December 29, 2013. The Vermilion County Coroner’s office investigated her death as a homicide and the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department was involved in the inquiry.

Born January 8, 1973, in Danville, she was the daughter of Leonard Yanders and Donna Allen and was preceded in death by several close family members, including a brother.
