Marcus Baldy London was 19 when he was shot and killed on July 27, 2011, in Chicago’s Washington Park neighborhood. The shooting happened about 12:55 a.m. on the 6000 block of South Prairie Avenue while Marcus and another man were on the street; Marcus was struck in the head and the other man suffered a gunshot wound to his ankle. Marcus was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital.
The Chicago Police Department opened a homicide investigation, but no suspects were arrested at the time and the case remained unsolved. Family members and community supporters held vigils and rallies to keep attention on the case, and police have continued to ask anyone with information to come forward.
Are there readers who knew Marcus or who have information about the shooting that could help investigators?
